Welcome
On behalf of the City of Mount Gambier I extend a warm welcome to all participants and their families. We are proud to host this event in our beautiful city and wish you all an enjoyable stay.
Located on the slopes of a dormant volcano Mount Gambier is renowned for its stunning Blue Lake and you have arrived at a great time of year to witness the attraction at its most brilliant blue. Sinkholes are another popular attraction and one of the most well visited sinkholes can be found in the very heart of Mount Gambier in the Cave Garden, surrounded by beautifully manicured lawns and stunning roses. View the sinkhole from one of the platforms and afterwards enjoy a drink or a meal at one of the many cafes, restaurants or hotels just a stone's throw away.
Umpherston Sinkhole is another must-see attraction. Set in a beautifully maintained park, this century old sunken garden is home to an oasis of flowering hydrangeas. Appreciate its size and beauty from the viewing platforms at the top then walk down into the sinkhole. Enjoy a unique experience in the gardens and await the resident colony of possums who make an appearance at dusk and enjoy being fed fresh fruit.
Mount Gambier also offers a range of retail precincts, markets, parks and gardens and is home to the Riddoch Art Gallery, the largest regional gallery in South Australia.
